Based on two Malaysian dishes – Prawn Sambal and Nasi Lemak, Gary Rhodes has created this delicious recipe. Relatively quick and easy to make, it could make an unusual dish for a supper party. As usual, I’ve tried to provide a vegetarian version!

It's always exciting to see your food prepared before your eyes and then to eat it the way it's meant be eaten. But after watching numerous culinary shows and live cooking demos you may probably say, "so what's the difference?"

I love them a lot. I am not a fanatic but it's one of my favourite food. I like them fried like this one here in the picture. I like them steamed, I like them pan fried and I like them boiled in soup. I grew up eating dumplings at home in Malaysia. My mom would make them with her own special recipe and make her special dumpling soup with fungus, spinach and friend crunchy anchovies. I also like to eat them in the local restaurant too.
