Based on two Malaysian dishes – Prawn Sambal and Nasi Lemak, Gary Rhodes has created this delicious recipe. Relatively quick and easy to make, it could make an unusual dish for a supper party. As usual, I’ve tried to provide a vegetarian version!

These photos were taken with permission of the manager at one of my favorite grocery stores called Food Country USA at 6766 West Andrew Johnson Highway, Mosheim, TN 37818-3836. This grocery store is located on the 11 E By-Pass in Greene County, Tennessee.
I was amazed as I took pictures at this grocery store that even after a few hours of taking photos, I didn’t even come close to taking pictures of their inventory. I was grateful that the manager was so gracious to let me take all these pictures. Perhaps someday, I will go back and take some more.

This recipe is listed as a starter but I'd be happy to eat it as a light lunch meal or serve it up with extra salad vegetables and bread or possibly a baked potato (with lashings of butter of course!).

The recipe refers to tiger prawns but some of you may not consider this to be appropriate bearing in mind recent publicity regarding the over fishing in so many countries. I can't afford to buy the true tiger prawns so use slightly smaller king prawns or even use bog standard smaller varieties – basically whatever suits your budget or your ethical beliefs!
