What can I say? Summer arrived – full of promise. The sun shone brightly, the wind dropped and we even had to drag the air conditioning unit into the office. It was just a cheapo one and is incredibly noisy, hence we tend to use fans unless it’s too hot for the fans to work effectively. It’s not so much that the weather is mega hot; it’s just that, with the two of us working in a small room, each running a PC from dawn to dusk, the heat just becomes overpowering.

Adam was lucky enough to look out of our office window and see a young deer nibbling away at the brambles and nettles about 3 ft away from the bottom of our garden. I don’t know whether he knows that he’s on animal sanctuary land and can’t be shot there or whether he’s just not old enough yet to be aware that, if he ain’t careful, he’s going to end up as venison pie come next autumn! I’d like to think it’s the former rather than the latter. I suspect the young nettles and bramble shoots are quite sweet at the moment.
