Thankfully the continual rain we've been experiencing here in Rural Norfok UK it's had absolutely no effect on the water lilies that are now in flower on our garden pond. I managed to catch this one when it was at its best!!

They seek it here, they seek it there … the elusive scarlet pimpernel! This bright little beauty has managed to survive in quite a hostile environment. Not only is it contending with arid soil and driving wind, it also has to try and avoid farm sprays ...

While out on a country walk, I was overjoyed to see a pretty little campion growing along the edge of a dry field. They're most certainly one of nature's "survivors" although, due to weed sprays these once prolific wild flowers are now becoming less visible in the UK.

Pastel Peach Rose

During one of our rare moments of sunshine this summer (2012) I quickly got my camera and had a good look around my garden. I found this poor little rose looking decidedly glum with head down in amongst my pot marigolds.
