This photo shows just how beautiful these birds are. I just love the dark marking from the beak, across the eye to the extended plumage at the back of the head, and I’m just so entranced by the “cloak” of long white feathers around his shoulders and down his chest. He’s certainly not the most elegant of birds, but his ungainly stance is far outweighed by his beautiful plumage!!

Here's Looking at You!
This young faun decided he'd try and outstare Adam when he was zooming in for this pic!! We were amazed at how close he came to the garden but it was wonderful getting a shot (not the bang, bang type I hasten to add!) of a deer's face this time rather than ending up with a rear end retreating into the undergrowth!!

Heard of the Lone Ranger? Think this must have been his horse in a previous life - Lone Horse!!
Every year we have about 15-20 rescued horses on the meadow at the bottom of our garden and for about the last three or four years this horse with slightly unusual markings has spent his spring and summer months with us.
