I had been hoping to get out and about a bit more over the long Easter break but, as so often is the case over bank holiday weekends, it was fairly miserable although I tried to grin and bear it and even managed to get the lawn cut!

I’m always on the lookout for something interesting in the recent news and this article immediately caught my eye. I watched the Hollywood film “Snakes on a Plane” starring Samuel L Jackson but this story in the news took place in Australia and didn’t end happily for the snake.

I’ve had an article sitting in my “in box” since April and I’ve finally got round to reading it. Being a nature lover and into animal welfare/environmental issues, I was overjoyed to hear that some of our rarest butterflies made a bit of a come back during 2011.
