Oakland A's GM, Billy Beane is stuck with the daunting task of rebuilding his roster, after three of the team's key players left to pursue other lucrative opportunities with other teams. Now, with nowhere to go except to rely on old fashion methods to recruit players, Beane feels there has to be another way to look for talent that other teams may have overlooked. Enter Peter Brand, a shy intern that creates a rather complex mathematical system to evaluate a player's potential down to an exact science.
