What a mixed up few weeks I’ve had recently, not only with the weather but with my work, my family … all manner of things! The weather’s been completely topsy-turvy. We had a week or so of heavy snow which remained thick on the ground for around three weeks.

Poor Peter – every year he plants sunflowers so the finches get a good feed when the seeds form, but, every year without fail the flowers refuse to point out into his garden where he gets full sun, but seem to prefer our more shady garden

Will The Chia Health Hype Hit The Uk?
Chia seeds are already hitting the health market in the US but although they are available in the UK they don't seem to have hit the market as hard as in the US. I suppose this isn’t really surprising as the plant is more prevalent in Mexico and Southern America, so it follows that it would more easily find its way across the borders to the US before reaching us far flung Brits!

The sewing project had humble beginnings at the Mills facility. Womack said, "The 'Threads of Love' project was formed from the sewing and quilting classes (at) from Fulton County Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility. Mills participant Beverly Henson presented the Haiti Care Mission project of making pillowcase dresses for the orphans and poor girls of Haiti…The massive project known as 'Threads of Love' began in May 2011 following a presentation to (more than) 200 participants in the Mills 3-Mile Walk and Health Fair."
