Junk food is an informal term applied to some foods that are perceived to have little or no nutritional value (i.e. containing "empty calories"); to products with nutritional value, but also have ingredients considered unhealthy when regularly eaten; or to those considered unhealthy to consume at all.

McDonalds has had some pretty bad press over the years and, once coffee shops pulled out all the stops to get people through their doors with “healthier options”, it seemed the burger chain was destined to fall by the wayside. I know many office workers, if in need of a quick takeaway lunch, still like to grab a burger and return to work but Starbucks and other coffee shops appear to offer healthier looking sandwiches and salads. So are those healthier workers on the right track?
