I’ve recently come across an interesting article which shows that, thanks to research and development undertaken at Dundee University, Dr Who’s sonic screwdriver may be a thing of the present rather than of the future.

Forgive me for this extremely short and hastily written article but this is an emergency “mission of mercy”. Many of us here in the UK are concerned about government plans to set in motion a badger cull due to a major epidemic of bovine tuberculosis which is supposedly spread from the migration of badgers.

What can I say? Summer arrived – full of promise. The sun shone brightly, the wind dropped and we even had to drag the air conditioning unit into the office. It was just a cheapo one and is incredibly noisy, hence we tend to use fans unless it’s too hot for the fans to work effectively. It’s not so much that the weather is mega hot; it’s just that, with the two of us working in a small room, each running a PC from dawn to dusk, the heat just becomes overpowering.
