I can remember learning about King Richard III when I was but a “wee lassie” back in the late 1960s but the only thing I can really remember about him is that he was a strange looking bloke with a dodgy haircut, a hunch back and that he died in a battle back in the 15th century or thereabouts!

What is Synaesthesia?
Have you ever experienced that strange sensory deception whereby you can smell a taste or vice versa - taste a smell? I know I have. Amongst some of the oddest ones have been that parma violet candy that we get over here in UK, to my mind, taste like the smell of a hairdressing salon, with it’s hair sprays and shampoos! An article on the BBC website has brought a whole new meaning to the words “fire” wood. An inhabitant of the Russian village of Udmurtia bought some crates with the aim of using them for firewood but discovered that, with this innocent purchase he had also gained his own armoury! Some of the crates contained Kalashnikov rifles and parts!!
