On January 18, 2011 Regis Philbin announced the end of his long run as host of 'Live With Regis and Kelly" and that he would be leaving the show towards the end of summer 2011.
Philbin, 79, has hosted the morning show with his co-host Kelly Ripa for the last 10 years and for 15 years before that with Kathy Lee Gifford. He has long been a fixture for many although lately Philbin has been experiencing several health problems although the exact reason has not been provided for his departure or when he will leave although it will likely be the at the end of the current season.
