The Urban Dictionary defines a slut as “Someone who provides a very needed service for the community and sleeps with everyone, even the guy that has no shot at getting laid and everyone knows it.” I agree with this definition. A feminist on the other hand is defined by the Urban Dictionary as “Someone who believes the radical notion that women are people.” Obviously, being a woman, I have a slight problem with the latter definition but can appreciate the humor.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I attended his 30 year high school reunion. While most of his former classmates were happy to see him and extended genuine kindness to me, a few of the female attendees exhibited nothing but bitterness and open hostility. We’re used to second glances and unwanted attention due to our nearly 20 year age difference however, most people are able to remain courteous. In contrast, some of the women attending this reunion actually referred to me as the “Trophy wife” out-loud.

He may or may not have been cheating for some time but has nevertheless left you for another woman. She may be younger, older, prettier, and more fun or not. You don’t actually know, but your imagination is driving you crazy. You imagine them talking about you behind your back, scheming, making mad, passionate love in your bed, in the car, on the beach and almost every other place your eye can see. While you’ve “sort of” accepted the breakup of the relationship, you’re burning with desire for revenge.
