In the year since the Museum of Art and Design reopened in its new digs on Columbus Circle, they've been delivering consistently compelling shows--from punk-rock lace to radical knitting experiments. The newest, "Slash: Paper Under the Knife", opened last weekend and runs through April 4, 2010.

If you are traveling through or near the Richmond, Virginia, region, and if you are a fan of dark stories and specifically Edgar Allan Poe, you can't miss visiting this museum. It's like stepping back 150 years into the past.

Overall there are not that many lighthouses in North Carolina but the ones located in the state are almost all tall picturesque and quite beautiful to see and all are open to the public. Most of the really tall lighthouses in North Carolina can even be climbed to the top for tourists and visitors willing to make the 200 plus step climbs for the magnificent views of the coast and Atlantic Ocean.
