I’d often seen clenched fist salutes used on various occasions and had assumed it was something relatively new to show some sort of victory as in sport or election campaigns, but I’ve recently read an article which delves a little deeper and I was amazed at what I read.

A brilliant memory of our future President John F. Kennedy and his bride Jacqueline Bouvier when they began their venture into what became known as "Camelot" for Americans. Leaving a legacy that has affected unknown numbers, their time was but too short to relish what is common to most of us as baby boomers. Jackie and JFK were married in Newport, RI, September 12, 1953, the wedding of the season, and on the occasion of remembering the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy's "Ask not" speech, we remember the changes their short tenure in The White House brought to the world we live in today.

This article argues against the claims that devalue the 1960s as a hedonistic adventure that had little to show for all the noise and self-indulgence. The baby boom generation faced mountainous issues the previous generations left unsolved–southern racism, resistance to civil rights in general, the rise of the military industrial complex in forcing the Viet Nam War and experiments with promising mind expanding drugs.
