When she died recently, the world lost one of the great sex icons on twentieth century cinema, a Hollywood superstar who, alongside Marilyn Monroe, had all red-blooded, movie going males on earth panting with the wish to get close to her. She was a legend in her lifetime, and never to be forgotten.

US Oscar winner Al Pacino will help kick off the Rome film festival on Wednesday as he picks up an achievement award on behalf of the Actors Studio, springboard for many of Hollywood's best and brightest. The nod to Hollywood will however be one of few at this year's third edition of the festival, which instead will shine the spotlight on European talent. Only one American feature will be among the 20 films in competition this year, Gavin O'Connor's "Pride and Glory" starring Edward Norton.
