As the title implies, this new movie -- “X-Men: First Class” -- is a prequel to the other movies. It tells the story of Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X (Scotsman James McAvoy of “Wanted”), and his former friend and arch enemy Magneto, who’s real name is Erik Lehnsherr (German born Michael Fassbender of “Inglourious Basterds” and “Jonah Hex”). It opens with a very powerful prologue taking place in a concentration camp in Poland during World War II.

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is the cocky, self-assured Thor, whom his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) has chosen to replace him when he retires -- something Thor’s weaker, more introvert brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) isn’t very pleased with. The ambivalent Loki has a sinister plan and he arranges so that the old enemies of the Norse gods; the Frost Giants, can attack Asgard -- which they do just when Thor is about to become the new king.

A review of the awesome sequel to the excellent Hellboy, the fantasy film made from a comic strip hero that was a shock box office success.
In the sequel, the world is once again on the verge of destruction, and only the demon in whom nurture beat nature can save it.
