If God is just, why do good people suffer? If God is love, why does anyone suffer? The obvious answer, which appears three times in the Bible, that not a single one of us is righteous (good), does not go over well. But before you get offended, consider: no one is totally good, and the fact of unrighteousness does not completely answer the question.

For Luther, to refuse to suffer as a Christian is tantamount to denying Christ, “The way is at hand, but you must know that if you refuse to suffer you will also not become Christ’s courtier. So you may do either one of these two, either suffer or deny Christ.”

It is not easy to pull away from someone you are attracted to. However, it will be better to avoid suffering before getting involved with the wrong person. If you’ll have a traumatic relationship with a person who doesn’t really love you, you will hate him or her in the end. You’ll then do something absurd in order to get revenge. This is how you’ll lose your mind.
