Most mothers know that it’s beneficial to put babies out in the fresh air when it’s dry and fairly warm but, throughout Scandinavia it’s general practice to put babies outside in their prams for a nap in sub-zero temperatures. But is there any evidence that this has health benefits for the children as they grow?

Gracie has just turned five. Two days ago, she asked me a question which surprised me.

"There are so many things in the world, what will I do when I grow up?", she asked, out of the blue. I still do not know what prompted that question. Some times, what goes through a child's mind, is astonishing....

The amazing wisdom of a child

Recently, my wife asked my 5-years old daughter, Gracie, who she likes. Is it my brother-in-law or my sister-in-law? Now, Gracie don't see them often as they live in China. So she takes a while to warm up to them whenever she visits them in China. During one of the visits, my wife asked this question. Initially, Gracie declined to answer. Quite a diplomat, she is. When pressed for an answer, Gracie, replied that she likes her cousin.
