I was driving from Tucson to Phoenix on I-10 recently. In Phoenix, near the airport, I snapped this photo of a transformer against the setting sun. The sky was hazy from pollution and the desert heat. The mountains that cut through the city provide a jagged backdrop. The headlights of southbound/westbound I-10 traffic can be seen in the lower right edge of the picture.

Fluctuations in the magnetic force, forced the Tampa airport to close down its primary runway until Jan. 13 to adjust taxiway signs because of the shift, the Federal Aviation Administration reported.
