Eight years since the events of "The Dark Knight", Gotham seems to be at peace. Batman has gone into hiding from the world, as he takes the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes. However, this new found peace is short lived, as a new menace known as Bane appears in Gotham; which forces Bruce to don the cape and cowl once more. To make matters worse, a mysterious Catwoman is on the prowl as well. Is she an enemy? Or perhaps a misunderstood ally?

In 2004, Catwoman, a movie starring Halle Berry, was released. This film’s Catwoman bore little resemblance to the comic book version. Berry portrayed Patience Phillips, a woman who eventually became Catwoman after a near-death experience. Patience gained the powers from the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet through a gathering of cats led by an Egyptian Mau.
