Loneliness can be debilitating when one has never experienced unconditional love and doesn't expect love to ever come their way. This was the case for me when Chico, a purebred Persian cat, came into my life. Together we embarked on a learning adventure I never thought possible. He filled a void in my heart I had never allowed to be fully awakened.
He was 3 years old when I brought him home from the shelter where he had been left by an owner who could no longer keep him. His life as a show cat won him several first-place awards for his beauty and poise.

What would happen if we all simply gave up our attempts at trying to control, manipulate and coerce others into being what we expect them to be, or to behave in ways we expect them to?
Our efforts to control others are seldom for their benefit, we do it for our own gratification. We trust others will make us feel better, we expect others to meet our demands and expectations. But it is such a cumbersome impossibility. Why bother?
