This is a photograph I took of a very dramatic sky. It was captured on a Olympus camera. My wife and I went to the lake to take photographs and we captured this one. The Olympus camera has several arts modes but this is my favorite.

Whether its glorious brightness or its vastness, something about the heavens has always made people feel weak and insignificant by comparison. Even in the Bible, David wrote in Psalm 8:3-4, "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him?" But he knew the answer.

Blue skies can be lovely, but too many sunny days in a row with no clouds in the sky can get monotonous. I find cloudy skies much more interesting. To me the blue skies represent those carefree days when things go as expected and there are no unpleasant surprises. The clouds represent the difficulties and sorrows that enter our lives. So the question is, do those clouds really have silver linings, or is that just a saying that doesn't hold water? (Sorry, I couldn't help it.) I offer my perspective in this brief photo essay.
