“Tourist Trap” was one of producer and sometimes director Charles Band’s first productions. Band went on to form Empire Pictures, which made “Re-Animator”, and then he came up with Full Moon, a company that’s been around in one way or another for more than twenty years; Band seems to make comeback after comeback. Full Moon produced buckets of often colorful little direct-to-video movies, the most popular series is the “Puppetmaster” series, the first installment from 1989 was directed by Schmoeller -- yes, the guy who made “Tourist Trap”.

Grimm fairy tales have always been ripe for adaptation, but unfortunately, the people behind "Red Riding Hood" seemed to have overlooked this. Instead of making this adaptation actually scary and violent, they copped-out and went the other route with the whole story.
