One night a year, all crime is legal throughout the United States of America. Unfortunately, this means that most of the country has to fend for itself during this night, while the one percent class has the best security that money can buy. However, one rich family ends up participating in this purge one night, as their son lets in a homeless man seeking shelter.

R is an unusual zombie, who's conflicted about his own existence in life. Faced with the harsh reality that he must feast on humans to survive, yet he yearns to one of them again.

However, his life changes when he meets and falls in love with a human girl named Julie. The two form an uncommon bond that sets into motion a chain of events that could change the entire lifeless world forever.
