Based on L. Frank Baum's "Land of Oz" and "Ozma of Oz." Dorothy Gale somehow finds herself back in the land of Oz, after a series of unlikely events. However, things are not all pleasant, as it seems like the Nome King has taken over the Emerald City; while turning most of her friends into stone. With little hope, she must venture through Oz to find a way to save her friends.

Rankin Bass Productions creates this made for TV animated film about Oz. Unlike the other adaptations of Oz, this one isn't based on any of Baum's books, nor does it try to convey any original story, as it merely tells how Dorothy returns to Oz. Upon her arrival, she soon learns that the wicked witch of the west is back for revenge. This movie pretty much rips off the first story so much that it should have just been a remake.
