Alligator Snapping turtles are very unique creatures. They have one relative the common snapping turtle. The Alligator snapping turtle gets much larger than their cousins. Alligator snapping turtles are threatened and may not be captured from the wild. In most states it is illegal to own one.

I wrote this article over the weekend after another common snapping turtle showed up in my pond. The Alligator Snapping turtle is my favorite turtle. They are so unique and get larger than any other freshwater turtle in North America. Any criticism would be welcome on how I can improve it.

The hummingbird gets it name from the humming sound made by the rapid beating of their wings, a 60 to 80 beats per second.
