A young man named Oliver (Ewan McGregor) shocked by the loss of his mother passing away. Upon her death though, his father comes out of the closet to reveal that he's always known he was gay, and wants to fully embrace that lifestyle.

A young aspiring author returns home college, as she decides to conduct a series of interviews for her book. In this book, she plans on detailing the many stories of the point of view of African American maid's on how they feel serving the various white southern families their hired to work for.

Although most are reluctant at first, it doesn't take long before things start to change. Friendships are forged, and enemies are made, as this is one film you won't soon forget.

Based on a true story. Colin Clark is an aspiring film student that wishes to become a film maker someday. He continuously tries to land a job at Sir Laurence Olivier's film studio, but he's constantly rejected. However, when word gets out that Marilyn Monroe is coming to town to make a movie with Mr. Olivier, Colin gets hired to work as a gopher where things really start to get interesting.
