Rankin Bass Productions creates this made for TV animated film about Oz. Unlike the other adaptations of Oz, this one isn't based on any of Baum's books, nor does it try to convey any original story, as it merely tells how Dorothy returns to Oz. Upon her arrival, she soon learns that the wicked witch of the west is back for revenge. This movie pretty much rips off the first story so much that it should have just been a remake.

Based on Baum's book, "Queen Zixi of Ix." The film follows a couple of kids, Fluff and Bud, that lose their home after their father died. Forced to live in the city of Nole with their aunt. However, due to a legal loophole, Bud is made their new king; while his sister inherits a magic cloak that can grant it's wearer one wish.

Sadly, the rolly rogues decide to invade the city, while Queen Zixi of Ix steals the cloak for herself.

A short cartoon that's loosely based on L. Frank Baum's book, "The Wizard of Oz." This is the first dramatic depiction of Kansas in a black and white setting, while portraying Oz in a lush technicolor atmosphere. Due to legal reasons, the cartoon never made it's debut, but it's one of the earliest Oz films ever made, as it predates the Judy Garland 1939 version.

A brief history about L. Frank Baum's very first live action adaption of his classic Oz stories. Mixing in a mixture of silent film, slideshows and live stage actors, Baum created a unique masterpiece onto the big screen for audiences. Sadly, the show didn't earn that much money to make up for it's expensive budget, so it was cancelled after only two shows.
