The Potato Gun
The wall of the workshop area of the garage was covered with pegboard and hooks that had tools hanging from them. Stacked in the corner was a folding work table whic Jack set up in the middle of the garage, and then he grabbed an armload of PVC pipe from the corner where it stood and laid it on the floor beside the work bench. Then he took the hack saw down from the wall and laid it on the table. Finally he went out to his truck and returned with a folded paper as thick as highway map. He spread it out on the work bench and said, “The directions.”

Memorial Day weekend events Rhode Island
Among the many Memorial Day events this weekend in Rhode Island is a Walk in the Woods at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens, and Arboretum, Bristol, RI. Blithewold was the original home of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Van Wickle of Hazelton, Pennsylvania coal-mining wealth. Mrs. Van Wickle was a talented horticulturalist and gardener. The mansion and its 33 acres of grounds are open to the RI public year round and contain over 500 specimen of imported trees, including a giant Sequoia.
