When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart presented to the court of spectators his opera "The Abduction from the Seraglio", the premiere was a great success.
Only the Austrian Emperor Joseph the Second didn't like the play. He called the music "too good to the ears," and suggested that there was too much of “something” in this opera. Of course, he was right, but what seemed to him to be too excessive? What was "too many" in this opera?
