This was a poem written about a woman who breaks up with her husband after so many years of marriage, having children and a lot of troubles. Too young when she married, she was not ready for the things she found out about the way life and love actually went instead of her fairy tale ideas. This poem is a good bye note to her ex telling him how she feels and that she'll always care. It is all in rhyming format.

How To Mend Broken Dreams - Hubs, Hearts, and Horses
Many, many years ago, in a not very far-away country, a fairly young woman picked up what remained of her marbles, and left her marriage, her abusive and troubled husband, and her only child. It was the hardest thing she'd ever had to do in her entire life.
She could never quite bring herself to believe that her husband would, as he threatened, kill her if she tried to take their son. She did, however, absolutely believe that if she sued for custody, the boy's father would simply leave the country with him and she would never see them again.
