A Maryland angler recently set a new Maryland State record for longnose gar with a 17 pound, 49 inch gar fish which was caught in a local river. The angler made the record catch, using steel leaders and live bluegill for bait.

Until recently, scientists considered most mollusks to have high cholesterol content. These high readings were partly caused by plant molecules, which as particularly evident in mollusks that feed on plants. Using a more suited measur­ing method in the lab, researchers were able to differentiate between cholesterol and plant molecules.
