Did you know that you can get help from the Internal Revenue Service with daily tax tips during tax season? Every year, from Jan. 2nd through April 14th, they publish a series of tips for taxpayers. The IRS can grant a taxpayer CNC (Currently Not Collectible) Status, when the taxpayer is found unable to pay his/her tax debt. Once a taxpayer is granted CNC status, the IRS must stop all collection activities and efforts, including levies (the statutory authority of the IRS, to seize property to satisfy a tax liability without going to court) and garnishments. CNC status can be a huge relief to those individuals who are essentially hounded by the IRS to pay their tax debt.
