How many of us patiently wait for the new year to arrive with expectations of getting tax returns? Would you consider your return as a loan you gave the government? Did they pay you interest? How many of us dread April 15th because we have to pay the government money? And what happens when we owe the government money? They charge us interest...

Do you fear looking those brown envelopes with the IRS or Inland Revenue address on it? Do you place them on one side until you’ve summoned the courage to read their newest demand for money? Does the thought of filing your income tax return stress you out unbearably?

Tax laws in most countries are extremely complex and open to interpretation by the courts. Each taxpayer would like to lawfully reduce the taxes he or she pays to the minimal. Even in these times of more easily understood forms there’s still a lot of range for interpretation of tax laws.

There have been discussions about our current income tax system. The liberals want to increase taxes
on the "rich". Conservatives have talked about a flat tax or national sales tax.

The question is "what is the most fair way to tax the American public?" The liberals think the "rich" should pay more taxes. I personally have 2 problems with this. First the top 1% of wage earners are all ready paying more than their share of taxes.
