Albuquerque offers a plethora of biking opportunities. Probably the most popular, for both road cyclists and many mountain bikers, is the Paseo del Bosque Trail. This is a 18 mile long linear park that passes near many Albuquerque attractions such as the zoo, nature center and aquarium. There are many other paved trails including Paseo del Norte and many "diversion channel" trails. All these offer paved trips for any skill level.

Albuquerque mountain biking on the glenwood hills linear park
Nice, fairly easy riding in the Foothills of the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, NM. If you want to make it more difficult just pick one of the trails that climbs a little higher. This trail starts out level underneath the power lines running roughly north/south until it hooks up with the steeper trails. Opportunities here for all ages and skill levels and a good place to improve skills.

First day of fall brought the cool for sure in Albuquerque but don't park the bike in the garage yet
Fall officially began on the 21st at 5:18 pm eastern standard time this year. And ironically that was the night it began to cool down in Albuquerque. The cool lasted all week with the highs not getting out of the sixties most days. The warmer weather is supposed to return Saturday but the nights are still kind of chilly. But the cooler weather doesn't mean it's time to put the bikes away.

Albuquerque mountain biking, ,Petroglyph National Monument
Petroglyph National Monument offers a great opportunity other than hiking and looking at ancient art, mountain biking. The Volcanoes Trail as it is known is in the western most property of the Monument. Not to say that you can't look for petroglyphs from your bike but you might want to pay more attention to the trail in some spots. The trail does circle three, or up to five if you extend the trip, extinct cone volcanoes.
