The “Captain America” pilot is absolutely hilarious. Reb Brown is artist Steve Rogers. He’s tall and brawny, but he walks like a Neanderthal man and looks a tad dim.

Back in the 1940s, Steve’s dad was the legendary hero Captain America. Bad guys are looking for the late Rogers Senior’s secrets and they try to kill poor Steve. Dr. Simon Mills (Len Birman) saves Steve by injecting the mysterious FLAG serum into him. This gives Steve super powers -- unlike the Steve Rogers in the comics and in Joe Johnston’s new movie, Reb Brown’s Steve already is a beefcake before the experiment.

Dr. Mills suggests that Steve becomes Captain America and heads out to catch the bad guys. “Shove Captain America down their throat!” he says. He also thinks that Steve needs a disguise, so he gives him a superhero outfit. Or … Something that maybe resembles a superhero outfit.

The uniform Steve slips into doesn’t at all look like the one in the comics. Nope. Instead, he wears a blue, baggy spandex jumpsuit, and a light blue moped helmet with an A on it. he looks like his about to perform on a second rate circus.
