How watching Planet Earth confirmed my atheism.

I've been watching the BBCs documentaries Planet Earth and the Blue Planet. It's absolutely amazing, but heartbreaking at the same time. It makes you realize how pitiful humanity is. Animals definitely think we're stupid. Have you ever seen a buffalo petting a dog? Of course not, that would be stupid. But we do it all the time. Have you ever seen a baby seal cry when it's mother is killed? Ok, that probably happens, but they get over it in about ten minutes. Anyways, watching Planet Earth and Blue Planet has led to me to some observations:

A Goldilocks planet, one with temperature neither too hot nor too cold to support life, has been discovered by scientists. Gliese 581g, a neighboring planet to Earth, appears to have all the necessary ingredients to support both water and carbon-based life forms.

"My own personal feeling is that the chances of life on this planet are 100 percent," said Steven Vogt, a UC Santa Cruz astrophysicist at a news conference today. "I have almost no doubt about it."
