Before you take a trip into the mountains, it's good to know how to avoid altitude sickness, also known as mountain sickness. At elevations as low as 6,500 feet, some people can experience symptoms of altitude sickness. For example, Denver, Colorado, the mile-high city, has an elevation of 5,280 feet. Just a short ride up the mountains and you'll be at 6,500 feet.

An account of my one day exploration of Arches National Park near Moab, Utah. One day is definitely not enough time to see everything, but I did manage to see and photograph the highlights. Come see Delicate Arch, the most famous arch in the world. Or Landscape Arch which is not expected to last much longer. It was a wonderful day and it should be on everyone's list of places to visit.
