This article is about transient global amnesia which is a bizarre loss of memory that can occur following times of extreme emotional stress or physical exertion. The exact mechanism is not known but there are some theories which you can read about.

A stroke patient can become self-sufficient with hard work, determination and time. Statistics show that 90 percent of cerebral vascular accident stroke patients regain their self-sufficiency, and approximately 50 percent of those do return to work.

The brain is a glutton. It demands one-fifth of the blood the heart pumps. But it also starves quickly. If its supply of blood is reduced for any reason, permanent damage can occur within five minutes. That’s what happens when a stroke occurs—a sudden interruption in the blood flow to the brain and subsequent brain damage. Four out of five victims will survive the first stroke with only partial brain damage and handicaps of varying degrees.
