When I was little, my dad would read me the same book almost every night before bed at my request (likely an over-tired whine I would recognize quite well now as a parent).

Paul, called "Saul" prior his conversion, studied under Rabbi Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). Paul was a zealous Pharisee that initially persecuted the Christian Church (cf. Acts 7:58; 8:1-3; 26:9-11). After his conversion by Jesus Christ (Acts 9:3 ff.) Paul would become the preeminent teacher of the Church and missionary. It was under Nero's reign that St. Paul was executed, c.68 A.D.

The Gospel books of the New Testament give an account of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christians believe there is a continuity of the Old Testament and New Testament. The Old Testament books testify of the coming Messiah. The New Testament reveals the Promised Messiah, Jesus Christ.
