Severe weather conditions hit Southeast Louisiana on March 29, 2011. Many areas of the Westbank of the Mississippi River were affected by the storm including Terrytown, Gretna, Harvey, Marrero, and Avondale. Terrytown, Louisiana received over 6 inches of rainfall and suffered from a thunderstorm, flooding, and quarter size pieces of hail. Many homeowners in the Park Place Subdivision were pounded with hail and heavy rain which caused severe flooding. Several residents took the proactive approach by helping themselves and others affected by the horrific storm.

Fighting the Missouri River Flood
The Missouri River, which runs from Montana to Missouri is flooding several communities along the way. Two communities in North Dakota are doing everything they can to save their homes and parts of their cities. Volunteers have come together to fill over 8 million sandbags. There is not a day that goes by that people are not thinking or talking about this flood.
