I learned about plastic canvas kissies back in the 80's. I would sit down with the kids and create these little cuties. My daughter still has one of the baby kissies that she created. She was so excited when she found it again. The books for kissies are hard to find. In the article, I have given a list of pattern books and books that have the kissies in them.
