(7/22/10) Well this is getting interesting. When I went to bed last night, this storm didn't look like it was going to do much. Today, is a different story. Invest 97L got upgraded to a Tropical Depression, and hours later, it was upgraded to a Tropical Storm and earned its name, Bonnie. The models are all over the place, at this time, so if you are in the Gulf, this is one to watch. It doesn't look good for parts of southern Florida, and maybe Louisiana and Texas...but beyond that, we need watch and see. The Gulf waters are very warm. This can intensify the storm.

(5/30/10) UPDATE:

The Gulf coast oil spill is what I would now categorize as beyond human understanding. Our minds are not able to understand the magnitude of the situation. Even those that are trying to understand this, with open minds, are still limited by the natural human response...denial. I've been writing about this since day 1. Even though I thought I understood the severity, I see now that I didn't. I couldn't. Its nearly impossible to absorb the fate that this situation has presented us. But I'm trying, so please stick with me and these updates.
