If you have EZ pass for paying bridge, highway and turnpike tolls you definitely want to remember to pull into the EZ pass lanes when you are getting off the exit.
If you forget and pull into a ‘ ticket only ‘ lane, don’t panic. There is a way to still pay your toll even though they technically still take easy pass. I wrote an article on the topic and posted it on my blog, TurtleDogs Blog, and linked it below. Check it out.

You'll get a traffic ticket.
If you are not carrying cash or you just want to continue drawing from your EZ pass account, there is a simple way to do this in the cash lane.
I had this problem when I mistakenly pulled up to a Pennsylvania cash only toll lane, when I would have preferred being in the EZ pass lane.
This definitely works in PA, hopefully other states too.
