Few people realize the implications of inflation and that it serves as an invisible tax on the poor. Since poor people have to use so much of their income for living expenses, when the government prints additional money causing inflation, the poor have to spend more just to keep up. That is one of the reasons that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

President Obama did the unthinkable this week. He did something that all political pundits and including yours truly, thought he would never do. President Obama made a move toward the political center this week by acquiescing to the Republican demand that the Bush tax cuts be across the board to include the wealthy for the next two years.

OK I admit it. It was my fault. I told them to do it. I was just trying to hold on to my job. It’s true I didn’t give you or anyone else a single thought. I just put on my rolex and started to make the necessary cuts. Snip Snip.
