T-Mobile USA has officially confirmed what unofficially has been the talk of the town--the debut of the first Google Android based mobile phone. The T-Mobile G1 is made by HTC (the device was code named the HTC Dream) and was introduced this morning at a press conference in NYC. While this is the first Android device to be announced there should be many more following. The G1 is a T-Mobile exclusive (both USA and Europe).

Motorola’s Droid smartphone continuous to prove itself as a worthy competitor of Apple iPhone handset ever since the released of the very first Droid in November 6, 2009. In fact, reports show that Droid sales are going extremely well that more than 25 percent of smartphone sales worldwide in the 3rd quarter of 2010 were commanded by Google Android operating system.

Nokia’s new chief executive has made the controversial decision to continue developing its in house operating systems MeeGo and Symbian rather than adopting Google’s Android operating system.

Stephen Elop revealed that the major decision was made owing to Nokia’s dwindling share in the smartphone market.
