Last week, our daughter Kate and her husband Kevin along with our middle son Patrick came to visit us here in Central Oregon. The weather was blistering and we had 3 very hot dogs between us....one playful puggle, Molly, and our 2 malamutes, 1 year old Griffin and our grand damme, 9 year old Denaya.

We decided to take them to Lake Billy Chinook near here to go for a swim to cool them off. What ensued was a Lucille Ball like episode of me trying to teach Griffin to swim - who knew that he was so petrified of water?

Years ago, we went on a camping trip when our kids were small. True to form for me, this ended up with a comical adventure out on the lake with my visually impaired son ala Lucille Ball style.

The fact that he still trusts me to go out in the water is amazing! The fact that I have several more stories to tell regarding water and my son Patrick is doubly amazing!

These are my favorite funny stories and soccer bloopers, comedic moments which evolved from my 7 and some years of playing soccer at a relatively 'older' age. I learned many things from these experiences and if given half the chance, would do it all over again as it was a most rewarding (although comedic) experience.

Soccer is a wonderful sport for all ages and teaches one many things. I still love it and follow it faithfully and avidly. Don't forget to catch the 2010 World Cup beginning on June 11th.
