Dumaguete is also called "The City of Gentle People" where you can see the friendly and welcoming faces of the local people who live in the island. There are many educated people who live in this small city are educated since it's also a huge university place. During the weekdays, you can see many university students walking around shopping malls during their class breaks since the two big universities namely Silliman and Negros Oriental State are located so near the big department stores.

Borgo Antico: This restaurant on the inside has a rustic, European feel to it. And maybe that’s appropriate since this is an Italian restaurant. I ate fettuccine with veal and a salad covered with an Italian cheese and a lemon vinaigrette. And the prices really weren’t that bad, especially considering the quality of the food. Visit Borgo Antico on East 13th Street, about a block south of Union Square.
