The controversy surrounding the Old Testament “Book of Enoch” will always be with us as more theologies reject this unique chronicle than accept it as part of the cannon of the Bible. This is understandable because when interpreted literally, it makes little sense.
The famous R.H. Charles translation of the ancient book was first published in 1912. Then in 1948 with the discovery the Dead Sea Scrolls, seven fragmentary copies of the Aramaic text of the book were discovered. In later years several portions of the Greek text surfaced.
